Artisan San Diego Concrete & Masonry, sandiegoconcreteandmasonry.com, service@sandiegoconcreteandmasonry.com

Accepting these terms

These terms apply when you use this website, ask us for an estimate or hire Artisan San Diego Concrete & Masonry for work at your property. By using the site or booking work with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or schedule work with us.

If a written estimate, proposal or contract that we both sign says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for that job.

The services we provide

Artisan San Diego Concrete & Masonry is a masonry contractor in San Diego, CA, working in San Diego and the cities around it. Our work includes foundation repair, chimney and fireplace work, brick and stone repair, tuckpointing, block and brick walls, retaining walls, pavers, walkways and outdoor kitchen masonry. You can read more about our crew on our About page.

Service descriptions on this website are general. The scope, materials and methods for your job are the ones written in your estimate or contract, because every wall, foundation and chimney is different until we've looked at it in person.

Estimates and pricing

We give free in-person estimates with no obligation. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure at the visit, and it covers only the scope and materials it lists.

An estimate is not a fixed price for conditions nobody could see. If we open up the work and find hidden problems, such as failed mortar behind a brick face, damaged footings, buried lines, roots or soil that won't carry the work, we stop, explain what we found and give you the change in price in writing before we do the added work.

Estimates are good for the period written on them. Material costs change, so after that period we may need to update the price. Any general price information on this website is not an offer.

Scheduling, delays and cancellation

We put your job on the schedule once you've accepted the estimate or signed the contract. Start dates and timelines are our best estimate, and they can move because of weather, curing time for mortar and concrete, material deliveries, permit or inspection timing, or what we find once the work is open.

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, and water and power where the job needs them. Please tell us before we start about any known underground lines, sprinklers, drains or property line questions, so we can plan around them.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us at (619) 220-2261 as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered special materials or started work, you're responsible for materials ordered and work completed up to that point, as your written agreement describes. Any cancellation rights you have under California law are not affected by these terms.

Payment terms

Payment amounts, any deposit and the payment schedule are set out in your written estimate or contract. Final payment is due when the work described is complete, unless your agreement says otherwise.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is brought current. Unpaid balances may be subject to collection costs and to the remedies California law gives contractors, including a lien on the property.

Our guarantee and warranty disclaimers

We stand behind our work. Our satisfaction guarantee and any workmanship warranty for your job are described in your written agreement. Warranties on materials such as pavers, block, veneer or fireplace units come from the maker and follow the maker's terms.

Masonry and concrete naturally show some variation in color and texture, and fine hairline cracks can appear as they cure and age. That's normal and is not a defect. Brick and stone also vary from batch to batch, so we can't promise an exact match to existing work, though we'll get as close as the available material allows.

Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from causes outside our control, such as earthquakes, ground movement outside our work area, water from drainage we didn't build, tree roots, misuse, or changes made by others after we finish.

Except for what we state in writing, our work and this website come without other warranties, express or implied, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured. To the fullest extent California law allows, Artisan San Diego Concrete & Masonry is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property, connected with our work or this website. Our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as liability for injury caused by our negligence.

Using this website

Information on this website is general and may not fit your property, so don't rely on it in place of an on-site look by a qualified contractor. The text and photos on the site belong to us and may not be copied for commercial use without our permission.

Links to outside websites are there for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what they say or do.

Resolving a disagreement

If something about our work isn't right, call us at (619) 220-2261 or reach us through our contact page first. Most problems get settled by coming back out and looking at it together.

If we can't settle a dispute informally within a reasonable time, either of us may ask for mediation in San Diego County before going to court. Claims that fall within small claims limits may be brought in small claims court.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any court case about them will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time by posting a new version on this page. The version in effect when you sign your estimate or contract applies to that job.
